Gregory J. Loren, MD, FAAOS

Gregory J. Loren, MD, FAAOSDr. Loren was born in Orange County, California, and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree, Summa cum Laude, in 1987 from the University of California, Irvine, School of Biological Sciences. As an undergraduate, he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society. In 1991, he was awarded his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the UCLA School of Medicine with Honors in Surgery as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Loren completed an Internship in Surgery and Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, San Diego, serving as Chief Resident in Orthopaedic Surgery from 1996 to 1997. In addition, Dr. Loren has completed post-graduate Fellowships in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy as well as Orthopaedic Research.

Dr. Loren is a Clinical Instructor at the UCSD School of Medicine and is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and remains active teaching at national and international conferences and publishing scientific articles on Arthroscopic Surgery and Sports Medicine.

Dr. Loren joined the practice in 1998 and remains an integral part of the sports medicine program and its impact on the community. Through the Athlete Services Department of CORE Orthopaedic, he treats local recreational and national competitive athletes and Action Sports Athletes with levels of competition ranging from amateur youth to high school, collegiate, and professional. Dr. Loren specializes in treating injuries and disorders of the shoulder, knee, and ankle, as well as fractures of the extremities.
