Physical Therapy Staff

Meet Our Physical Therapists

Pam Cloud, MPTPam Cloud, MPT, is a licensed physical therapist who graduated with her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from CSU, Northridge in 1998 and BS in Exercise Physiology from CSU, Fresno in 1995. She is the Assistant Director at CORE Orthopaedic and manages the PT aides and volunteers. Pam specializes in sports rehab with an emphasis in manual and functional exercise techniques to obtain the goals of her patients. Her philosophy is an eclectic approach to patient care including interventions such as mobilizations/high velocity thrusts, Therapeutic Taping, ASTYM and postural correction through biomechanical analysis. Pam also enjoys treating TMJ dysfunction, addressing headache and postural dysfunction that can contribute to this condition. Pam leads our aquatics rehab program at the Boys and Girls Club in Solana Beach to assist conditioning in a reduced weight bearing environment. Her career interests include health, wellness and injury prevention. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, camping, hiking and outdoor sports.

Susie Croke, MPT, CSCSSusie Croke, MPT, CSCS, earned her Master’s degree of Physical Therapy from Mount St. Mary’s College in 1993. She received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science/Physical Education from Arizona State University in 1991 and became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2002. Susie incorporates manual therapy techniques and her knowledge of strength and conditioning to treat her orthopedic patients. Susie also has her SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) Level I certification which is a movement based diagnostic system to help find the cause of pain by breaking down dysfunctional movement patterns. She is also SFMA Level 2 trained which helps guide the use of mobility techniques and motor control interventions based on the SFMA system. She is a certified provider in the ASTYM system which is used to help promote regeneration of soft tissue, reduce scar tissue, and restore mobility.

Winston Purkiss, MPT, CSCSWinston Purkiss, MPT, CSCS, is a licensed physical therapist who graduated from CSU Long Beach with a B.S. in Physiology, where he was a NCAA Division I track athlete. Winston received his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles/ Chapman University in 1992. Winston has worked for over 19 years as a sports/orthopaedic physical therapist in San Diego, California and Sun Valley, Idaho utilizing his manual therapy skills and other specific orthopaedic techniques, including Active Isolated stretching, in order to maximize the benefits to his patients. Winston specializes in rehabilitating golf injuries and is TPI certified. His hobbies include golf, skiing, surfing and strength and conditioning. Winston is currently providing care at our Carlsbad location.

Audra Jahn, DPTAudra Jahn, DPT, graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa with her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy in 2013. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the same university, majoring in Exercise Science with a minor in Biology. Her graduate school education was fostered by a small class size, which allowed faculty members to provide personalized, one-on-one attention to all students. She just recently moved to California from Illinois and enjoys hiking, rock climbing, running, and traveling. Audra’s treatment strategy includes a balance of therapeutic exercises to strengthen, stretching, and manual techniques. She has also found a new passion for yoga and likes to incorporate her knowledge of yoga into practice where appropriate.

Alexa Lewis, PTA earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Occidental College, Los Angeles, CA in 2004 and her Physical Therapy Assistant degree from San Diego Mesa College in 2013. She is also a Licensed Massage therapist and a certified Yoga Teacher. She has worked in the outpatient orthopedic setting for several years and she is grateful to be able to help patients decrease their pain and restore function. Alexa utilizes manual therapy techniques, corrective exercise, aquatic exercise, and therapeutic taping in treating acute and chronic conditions. She is also ASTYM certified and finds this technique very effective in treating soft tissue disorders. Her yoga background has given her an appreciation for correct alignment and she is passionate about neuro-re-education and assisting patients in improving their kinesthetic awareness, posture and movement patterns. She loves educating and teaching patients tools to meet their goals, gain independence, and prevent future injury. In her free time, she enjoys spending time at the beach, yoga, hiking, and anything outside with her sweet pup Kolohe.

Meet Our Hand Therapists

Stephanie Bloom, OTL, CHTStephanie Bloom, OTL, CHT, is a licensed occupational and hand therapist who graduated from Tufts University in Boston with her Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy in 1984, has been practicing hand therapy since 1987 and received her Certified Hand Therapist certification in 1990. Stephanie has extensive experience in complicated splinting and fracture bracing, along with joint mobilization and neural mobilization. She has expertise in trauma, reconstructive surgery, pediatrics and soft tissue problems.

Robin Dushkin, OTR-L, CHTRobin Dushkin, OTR-L, CHT, is a licensed occupational and hand therapist who graduated from University of Illinois with her Bachelors of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 1977 and from Loma Linda University with Hand Rehabilitation Advanced Clinical Training in 1988. Robin has over 20 years experience as an occupational therapist and received her Certified Hand Therapist certification in 1991. Her areas of expertise include hand therapy (treatment and evaluation) and splinting.
